JOPLIN AT CARNEGIE HALL
On April 1, 2017 pianist Richard Dowling will perform The Complete Piano
Works of Scott Joplin
in two consecutive recitals at 2:00 PM & 7:00 PM in
Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York.

Mr. Dowling is the first pianist to perform the complete cycle of Joplin's

published
piano works in public.

Notably, these historic twin recitals will take place exactly 100 years to the
day that Scott Joplin died in New York City.

Mr. Dowling will offer a variety of rags, waltzes, marches and cakewalks on
each
of his two programs. (27 works on the 2:00 PM recital followed by 26
works on the
7:00 PM recital.)

Starting October 1, 2016 tickets will be available on
Carnegie Hall's website
or CarnegieCharge (212-247-7800) for $50 & $60
, along with a select
group of premier VIP seats for $100. A
udience members will receive a 20%
discount when purchasing tickets to both recitals. (Discount only available

Scott Joplin's grave marker at St. Michael's Cemetery in Queens, NY. Recent
research by Joplin scholar Dr. Edward Berlin indicates that Joplin was most likely
born in Texas in 1867, not 1868. Joplin died in New York City on April 1, 1917.
